Overview
If for some reason you cannot directly access the Setup pages, you can use the
config.txt
file
that resides on the set top box to set various configuration parameters. To do this you will
need to login to the device, via Telnet for example, to get the file. Then make any changes
and put the file back on the STB. Before you can do this you will need to setup an accessible
FTP server. These steps are briefly outlined below.
To modify the
config.txt
file:
1. Open a Telnet session, login to the STB, and put the file on your FTP server:
login: iptv
Password: settopbox
#
# cd data
# ftpput <local_pc_ip_address> -u anonymous -p password config.txt config.txt
2. The config file will typically be copied to
C:\Inetpub\ftproot\config.txt
(Alternately
you can login and edit the file in place using vi.)
3. Modify the specific parameters as necessary and save the file.
4. When done open a Telnet session, login to the STB, and get the file from your local
machine:
login: iptv
Password: settopbox
#
# cd data
# ftpget <local_pc_ip_address> -u anonymous -p password config.txt config.txt
5. When done reboot the STB to read the file.
Setting Configuration Parameters
The following table shows the settings in
config.txt
you will likely need to modify. To avoid
problems, enter your changes carefully and do not change anything else except as directed by
VBrick Support Services.
