Front passenger airbag
deactivation

Front and side airbag systems must b e
deactivated if a child restraint system is to
be mounted on the front passenger’s seat.
The b elt tensioners as well as a ll airbag
systems for the driv er’s seat remain active
when the front p assenger seat’s airbag
systems are disengaged.
The switch for deactivating or activating
the a irb ag system is located on the front
passenger’s door.
The chosen setting remains ac tiv e after the
ignition has been switched off. Control

for front passenger airbag
deactivation is loc ated in the instrument
cluster.
To dea ctivate:
With the front passenger’s door open,
press switch in and rotate anticloc kwise to
the "OFF" position.
The airbag systems for the front
passenger’s seat are now deactivated.
With the ignition switched on, the control
indicator
H
w ill remain illuminated to
indicate dea ctivation. It is now safe to
place a child restraint on the front
passenger’s seat.
