Installation
Requirements for service personnel
The Collimator may be installed, repaired and / or serviced by qualified personnel only.
Installation requirements
The Collimator can be installed using regular tooling.
Installation instructions
WARNING:
The collimator contains sensitive electronics. Take measures to prevent ESD.
Before the collimator can be used, it needs to be properly installed. The installation requires a number
of steps that must be executed in this sequence:
1.
Installation of cables:
a.
Power supply (see §3.6).
b.
CAN bus interface (only required for remote control use, see §3.6).
2.
Mounting the collimator to the X-ray tube (see §3.8).
3.
Calibration of the rotation sensor (see §3.9). The cross and long shutters and touch screen
are calibrated during manufacturing and do not need to be calibrated during installation.
However, if there is a need for re-calibration, follow the instruction provided in §3.9.
4.
Setup the configuration for the collimator on with parameters available on
Service screen 1
, Service screen 2
and
Service screen 3
(see §3.9).
5.
Complete tables provided in §1.1 with contact information and collimator configuration.
Installer responsibilities
•
Validation of minimum filtration of the X-ray system (X-ray tube, collimator and possible filters)
must be performed on a complete X-ray system.
•
Validation of system X-ray leakage is to be performed following the installation of the system
components.
•
Correct installation of the collimator according to the instructions provided in this Technical
Manual.
•
Proper EMC performance of the X-ray system.
Remove and re-mount the rear cover
For maintenance and installation of cables, the rear cover of the collimator has to be removed to
access the inside of the collimator.
Steps to remove the rear cover of the collimator
1.
Remove the screws as indicated in the figure below.
2.
Carefully remove the rear cover.
Steps to re-mount the rear cover of the collimator
1.
Carefully relocate the rear cover.
2.
Re-insert and tighten the screws as indicated in the figure below.
