that can be found in the flange. Using the supplied key, loosen
the screw (Fig.C pos. 3). Take off parts 3 and 6 in Fig. C.
Check the flange surfaces and take off any deburring and
irregularities in order to ensure that the abrasive disc is
supported correctly.
Completely open the mobile protection (lower the arm with your
left hand and hold the blade protection with your right hand),
lift the arm back up keeping the blade protection open.
Insert the disc, reassemble the parts 6 and 3 and fully tighten
screw 3 in figure C.
Close the cover again (Fig.C pos.2).
INSTALLATION CHECK
Connect the machine to the power supply respecting the
warnings in the chapter “Electrical safety regulations”.
Switch the machine on and let the tool turn idly (see chapter
“Starting and stopping”) for a few minutes. Check that there
are no suspicious vibrations or noises that indicate incorrect
assembly of the disc or interference with the protections.
Slowly move the arm along its whole stroke, checking that
the machine is stable.
STARTING AND STOPPING
The start button has a safety catch for preventing unplanned
start-ups.
To switch the machine on, grip the main handle, pull back the
safety catch, push and keep the start button held down.
To switch off the machine, release the button. The safety
catch automatically falls back into position.
Because of the
high power of the engine, in order to avoid excessive peaks
of current during start-up, the machine has been equipped
with an electronic switch with slow start that limits the
start-up current.
USE
ADJUSTMENT AND TIGHTENING OF THE PIECE IN THE VICE.
Firstly adjust the depth of the cut by loosening the nut of
the end-of-stroke screw and turning the screw until it is in a
position for the arm disc to be lowered as much as possible
just below the work surface.
Wear on the abrasive disc causes its diameter to progressively
decrease, which must be compensated for by adjusting the
end-of-stroke screw from time to time.
Position the piece to be cut on the rear bracket (Fig.A pos.7)
of the vice and close it well.
It is possible to move the rear bracket fixing it into the extra
holes on the base.
If you intend to carry out cuts on a slope of up to 45°, loosen
the screws from the bracket and using a goniometer to create
the required slope. The front bracket is hinged and therefore
is automatically turned towards the direction of the piece
being cut.
If you cut long pieces (tubes, bars)… make sure that they are
supported right along the whole length in order to prevent the
machine from losing balance.
Tighten the piece definitively with the handwheel (Fig.A
pos.10).
CUT
Connect the outlet (Fig.A pos.11) to the dust suction sy-
stem.
Start the engine and wait for it to reach its maximum speed idling.
Do not cut if you notice vibrations in the disc or strange noises.
Slowly lower the arm and start to cut, avoiding blows and exces-
sive pressure on the disc. Proceed progressively in order to keep
the number of the machine’s revolutions high and to obtain a
regular cutting line. Keep the engine on until you have completely
extracted the disc from the piece that has been cut.
WARNING!
IMPORTANT! EXCESSIVE PRESSURE FROM THE BLADE ON
THE PIECE BEING CUT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT
AND CONSEQUENTLY TO BREAK. THIS BREAKAGE CAUSED
BY INCORRECT USE OF THE MACHINE IS NOT COVERED BY
THE WARRANTY.
The pressure exerted must always be light. If the machine
is used for extended periods, make sure you take breaks
so that the engine can cool down.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Sucking up the dust prevents the accumulation of residue from
the work carried out which could cause fires due to the sparks
created whilst cutting.
CUTTING TOOL
TOOL CHOICE
WARNING! Use only abrasive cutting discs for metal with
dimensions shown in the chapter 'TECHNICAL DATA'. The
use of other types of tools, for example discs with saw teeth
is absolutely forbidden.
Before buying a tool check on its expiry date. Do not buy discs
with imminent expiry dates.
TOOL CHANGE
IMPORTANT! Make sure that the machine is disconnected
from the power supply when you replace the tool.
The tool must be replaced when it has expired, when its dia-
meter has reduced noticeably and any time there are signs of
damage or it vibrates abnormally.
Proceed as described in the chapter “Starting up – Installation
of the disc”. Always clean the flanges and the disc protection
casing and remove all the metal and dust residues.
MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT! Check that the machine is not connected to the
power supply during all maintenance operations.
Clean and maintain your machine regularly, to ensure that it remains
perfectly efficient and has a long working life in safe conditions.
Clean the tool using a cloth and a soft brush only.
Do not spray or wet the machine with water.
Do not use any detergents, solvents or abrasive brushes as
these may damage the machine beyond repair.
TROUBLESHOOTING
IMPORTANT! Check that the machine is disconnected from
the power supply during all troubleshooting operations.
If the machine fails to start or stops: Check the electric
connections (sockets, plugs, extension leads); check that the
