Note
The brine expansion tank has a capacity
of approx. 6 litres and is therefore ade-
quate for brine circuits up to a maximum
of 1900 litres.
If a flat collector is used the capacity of
the brine expansion tank supplied will
not be sufficient. If the annual tempera-
ture fluctuation in the soil is greater
than 8 K, the brine will expand by more
than 6 litres which means that in this
case the customer will need to select a
larger brine expansion tank. A larger ex-
pansion tank will also be required if the
overall quantity of brine in the system
exceeds 1900 litres.
a
Caution!
The screw couplings on the brine expan-
sion tank must be sealed with hemp.
Sealing with, e.g., teflon tape can lead to
leaks in the brine circuit.

Fig. 4.13 Mounting the brine expansion tank on the wall
• Fit the bracket for the brine expansion tank to the
wall using the wall plug and the screw.
• Unfasten the pre-assembled connection pieces from
the brine expansion tank (
57
).
• Wind hemp into the outer threads of the connection
pieces.
• Fit the first connection piece to the 3 bar expansion
relief valve (
42a
) enclosed with the heat pump.
• Using the second connection piece, fit the brine ex-
pansion tank (
57
) from the accessory kit to the pipe
(
1
) running from the heat source to the heat pump.
• Fix the brine expansion tank with the bracket.
• Fit the connection piece with the expansion relief
valve to the brine expansion tank.
• Fit the brine collecting tank (
65
) to the expansion re-
lief valve (
42a
) at zero pressure.
The brine collecting tank must not be completely
closed, as otherwise the functioning of the expansion
relief valve is not guaranteed.
• Provide all the pipes with vapour-proof thermal insula-
tion. The accessory kit contains the insulating mat
provided for the thermal insulation of the connection
plate.
4.10.3 Assembly of the well system (VWW only)
With water as the heat source, the well system is in
most cases implemented with a suction and injection
well. The customer-side well pump (immersion pump)
should be fitted in the suction well. In so doing, follow
the installation and assembly instructions for the im-
mersion pump. See Chap. 6.4. for the electrical connec-
tions of the immersion pump
