Phrase recording
Cannot record from connected device
Have you selected the correct recording format?
(DMX/MDDI)
Make sure that the device connected to the terminal
matches the recording format.
→
See 'Step 2: selecting the recording format' on page 30.
Playback
Phrase does not play back correctly.
Did you format the memory card on a computer?
Memory cards should only be formatted using the UDMR.
Phrase is not played back (PLAY button light is
orange)
Is the Sync Source set to 'External'?
Set the Sync Source to 'Internal' except when operating
the UDMR as a sync signal slave
Pattern phrases and song phrases do not play as
expected
When creating pattern & song phrases, you can select the
component 'actual phrases' from either memory card A or
B. However, the memory card containing the actual
phrases must be inserted during playback in order for the
pattern/song phrases to play correctly. If the actual
phrases do not exist, the unit searches for the next phrase
to play back. Please therefore check that the actual
phrases exist on the memory card when creating the
song/pattern phrases.
→
See 'Pattern phrases' on page 38.
→
See 'Song phrases' on page 42.
When attempting to play back phrases using
external device control, the start of the phrase
playback is delayed
Has the 'Delay Time' setting been configured for the
phrase?
Try playing the phrase manually on the UDMR by
pressing the PLAY button. If there is a delay before the
playback begins, check to see if the Delay Time has been
configured.
→
See 'Setting the delay time' on page 34.
If the playback starts correctly after manually pressing the
PLAY button on the UDMR, check the external device's
control signal and connection etc.
Controlled input playback (Direct/Binary) does not
operate as anticipated
Make sure you have selected the correct control input
type (Direct/Binary). Controlled input playback cannot be
performed simply by connecting a device to the UDMR's
control terminals. The control input mode must be
configured to match the terminal connection method.
Direct playback of phrases does not operate as
expected
Allocation of phrases to terminals 1 - 10 is performed by
the UDMR.
Upon card formatting, phrases are allocated to terminals
as follows.
• Terminal no. 1: Phrase A001
• Terminal no. 2: Phrase A002
:
• Terminal no. 10: Phrase A010
→
See 'Selecting direct playback & allocating phrases' on
page 54.
In Direct Playback, the same phrase keeps
repeating
Check the phrase settings to see if 'Repeat Playback' is
set to 'ON'.
→
See 'Setting the repeat playback' on page 35.
