Controlling other devices (Busy Out)
You can control external devices using the BUSY terminal in
the right CONTROL TERMINAL Euroblock located on the
UDMR's rear panel.
This section explains how to connect external devices to the
UDMR and how to configure the UDMR accordingly.
Refer to 'Control terminal specifications' on page 98 for details.
When connecting the terminal, be careful not to lose the
detached Euroblock connector or accompanying screws.
Keep the screws out of reach of children. If swallowed, contact
a doctor immediately.
Definition of Busy Outsignal
The Busy Out signal can be used to activate external devices
such as lighting equipment and audio players in conjunction
with phrase playback.
You can configure the output (or non-output) of the Busy Out
signal in the following three intervals.
During a phrase's configured delay time: MID-DELAY
TIME ON/OFF
During playback: MID-PHRASE PLAYBACK ON/OFF
During a phrase's configured repeat interval:
MID-REPEAT INTERVAL ON/OFF
The maximum contact capacity of no-voltage NO contacts
used in conjunction with the Busy Out terminal must not
exceed DC30V, 5A.
Both pattern phrases (p.38) and song phrases (p.42) are
treated as a single phrase so the Busy Out signal is output
without interruption during playback.
UDMR settings
This setting is recorded on memory card A/B and is performed
as part of the UDMR system settings rather than as an
individual phrase setting.
You can configure the output (or non-output) of the Busy Out
signal in the following three intervals according to the usage
scenario.
During a phrase's configured delay time (p.34):
MID-DELAY TIME ON/OFF
During playback: MID-PHRASE PLAYBACK ON/OFF
During a phrase's configured repeat interval (p.35):
MID-REPEAT INTERVAL ON/OFF
By entering the external device's startup delay time (i.e. time
until the device starts operating) in the phrase, you can
prevent the start of the phrase from being cut off upon
playback.
