DMX output settings
The UDMR is equipped with DMX IN and DMX OUT terminals.
In addition to recording DMX signals input to the DMX IN
terminal, the UDMR is capable of switching from
external/UDMR DMX phrase playback to output from the DMX
OUT terminal.
Setting
Summary
Thru
Only DMX phrase signals are output during
DMX phrase playback.
When the playback is stopped, DMX
signals input to the DMX IN terminal are
output from the DMX OUT terminal without
modification.
When UDMR playback is stopped and no
DMX signals are being input to the DMX IN
terminal, no signals are output from the
DMX OUT terminal.
Mix
If a DMX phrase is played back on the
UDMR and a DMX signal is input to the
DMX IN terminal, the one with the largest
value is output.
Following completion of DMX phrase
playback, the UDMR continues to output
the value at the point the playback ended.
Backup
This setting enables automatic or manual
switchover either to: unmodified output
(from the DMX OUT terminal) of signals
input to the DMX IN terminal; or output of
phrase signals played back on the
UDMR.
Refer to 'Lighting console backup' on page
21 for further details.
The UDMR outputs DMX signals at a constant 40 frames/512
channels regardless of the input DMX signal's own frame
rate/channel count.
