Section 4. Configuration of the frequency converter
Start the engine drying process
When the drive is stopped and a signal is given in accordance with the setting of parameter
1.96 DC dry enable
, the
process of drying the motor windings will be started. The drying process will continue for the time specified in par.
1.99
DC dry time
or less if interrupted by one from the following:
• "start inverter" command,
• no signal that allows the drying process - par 1.96,
• operation lock, inverter failure.

Fig. 4.21 – Motor drying process
Example 1
The start of the drying process is to be activated by digital input 1 (DI1) and should last for 1 hour.
Drying current limit: 20% In. Drying voltage limit: 5%.
The following parameters must be set:
par. 1.96 = 001 We.C1 (DI1),
par. 1.97 = 20.0%,
par. 1.98 = 5.0%,
par. 1.99 = 1.0 h.
Example 2
The start of the drying process is to be activated by digital input 1 (DI1) and should last until the signal changes on this
input.
Drying current limit: 20% In. Drying voltage limit: 5%.
The following parameters must be set:
par. 1.96 = 001 We.C1 (DI1),
par. 1.97 = 20.0%,
par. 1.98 = 5.0%,
par. 1.99 = 200.0 h.
Note:
Using the motor drying function without monitoring the temperature of the motor windings may overheat these
windings and damage the motor.
