12.4 Unit communications
You will need to configure the communication settings using a serial (RS-232) connection
initially. Once the unit has been configured via a serial connection, future connections can
be made using either Ethernet or RS-232.
12.4.1 Communication selection
The system comes pre-configured for a serial (RS-232) connection. The initial connection
needs to be made via RS-232; if you wish to use Ethernet you will still need to connect via
serial in order to configure the network settings on the unit.

connections you plan to connect via Ethernet, follow instructions in section
