Configuration with USB flash drive
9.1.
Function
The used USB flash drive must only have one partition and must be in the FAT format. The following
formats are supported: FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32.
New data of a USB flash drive is automatically applied only if the flash drive is authenticated with a
valid user name and password. Therefore a authentication file named
„userpassword.pass“ must be
on the USB flash drive.
To perform the configuration via USB flash drive a valid authentication file
must be on the USB flash drive.
The authentication file must be an ASCII-coded test file without formatting. In the first line must contain
the user name, the second the password.
The structure of the directory of the USB flash drive must look like that:

9.2.
Perform the configuration
To change the configuration of the switch, a valid configuration file in the folder "configuser" of the
USB flash drive must be present. The configuration file must be "confignew.cfg". After
plugging the USB flash drive into the switch, the device will load automatically the new configuration
file and apply it after the successful authentication.
