It is recommended to deactivate unused ports, because in a high network
load the Management functions are not reachable.
8.3.
Password change
The password can be changed via the web interface or with a USB flash drive.
8.3.1. Web interface
The password can be set in the
Maintaining > Settings
menu. To change the password, the new
password must be entered twice and confirmed with the “change password” button.
8.3.2. USB interface
The password can be changed with the USB port therefore a USB flash drive is needed. It has to be
prepared as described in chapter

To change the password an authentication file is needed. This file must have the name
“newpassword.pass”, the content is the new user name and new password. The requirements of the
format are described in chapter

For the password the following conventions must be complied
► at least 5 characters
► max. 16 characters
► no special character, no umlauts
After you put in the USB flash drive the password is automatically changed without a restart. If a web
interface session is active, the session becomes invalid and the user is logged out automatically.
8.4.
Configuration files
The whole system configuration can be managed by configuration files.
In the web interface the configuration files are at
Maintaining > Settings.
The following functions are
supported:
► Save of the configuration:
on a USB flash drive
(„config.cfg“), as a download on a PC
► Load and apply of the configuration file:
of a USB flash drive
(„config.cfg“), as a Upload from a PC
► Load default settings
Configuration files can be loaded and applied automatically from a USB
flash drive, see chapter 9.
