In both cases above the ProtoTRAK KMX will give you a warning before erasing or
overwriting your program.
12.2
Program Formats and Labeling
The ProtoTRAK family of products has its own unique programming system--one that
organizes the program into events rather than codes and blocks. Programs written on
the KMX will have the extension .PT4.
The ProtoTRAK KMX will open programs with .PT4 extensions (but error out if they
contain Tap Events from the ProtoTRAK SMX) or any programs written on our legacy
controls with .MX2 or .MX3 extensions. All .MX2 and .MX3 will automatically be
converted to .PT4 programs as they are opened so they are compatible with the
ProtoTRAK KMX.
12.3
Opening a Program from the ProtoTRAK KMX Thumb
Drive
Press MODE, PROG I/O and OPEN keys. The display will show:

Use Column Forward and Back to move the highlight to the proper column
showing the program you wish to open.
•
Use the UP and Down Arrow keys to highlight the part number you wish to open.
•
Press Open to open your program.
•
Press Return to return to the previous screen.
