To change speeds, pull the knob out and rotate the selector to the proper position.
It is generally easier to change speeds with the spindle running or rotated by hand.
Do not force the lever.

Feed Trip Lever
The Feed Trip Lever stops the quill feed motion when the quill stop knob reaches the
quill micrometer dial.
Move the lever to the left to engage, or to the right to disengage.

Fine Hand Quill Feed
1.
Disengage the Power Feed Engagement Lever.
2.
Set the fine feed direction shaft to the neutral position.
3.
Rotate the Fine Feed handwheel.

Fine Automatic Quill Feed
1.
Be certain the quill lock is off.
2.
Set the quill micrometer dial to the proper depth.
3.
Engage the Power Feed Engagement lever when the motor is stopped.

Select proper quill feed (see above).

Three-Axis Changes to the Head
The head on the 3-axis TRAK K3 KMX-3 and on 3-axis retrofits is modified with a kit
to drive the quill up and down. The kit is comprised of:
1.
A fork bracket is substituted for the quill stop knob
2.
A bracket encompassing a ball screw is attached to the fork and the front of
the head
3.
A servo motor is mounted on to this second bracket
4.
The quill feed handle is replaced by an Electronic Handwheel

Coolant Pump / Spray Coolant
An optional coolant system may be used with any ProtoTRAK

If you have a 3-axis K3 KMX-3 or 3-axis retrofit this feature necessitates the
purchase of a Cable Breakout Box. The coolant is controlled through the ACC
(accessory) key on the KMX front panel. Press once to turn coolant on, press
and hold for 2 seconds to turn on in Auto Mode where the coolant is on only
when the spindle is on in Program Run. Press again to turn off.

If you are upgrading a 3-axis DPM bed mill, the auxiliary functions are
already present from your old control and can be reused for the KMX
upgrade. See (1) above for how it is used.
3.
If you have any 2-axis KMX system, the coolant option will include a separate
coolant on/off switch to be installed conveniently.
