EP SERVER RESTORE

Recovery From USB Flash Drive

Installation Manual August, 2011

Note:

If an error occurs in step 4 remove then, insert the USB flash
drive then, try step 4 again.

Remove the USB flash drive.

Download IP

edge

EP server ISO image file and zip file from Toshiba’s

FYI website to the adminisrator PC.

Insert the USB flash drive into the administrator PC.

Extract the zip file to USB flash drive and copy ISO image file to USB
flash drive.

Remove the USB flash drive from the PC.

Recovery From USB Flash

Drive

Administrator can install the IP

edge

EP server recovery software image

using the following procedure. This procedure requires that the IP

edge

EP server be connected to a network with internet access and the
following hardware.

•

USB Keyboard

•

Monitor

•

USB flash drive prepared using the procedure above with the IP

edge

EP software.

Important!

Before starting this procedure use a PC to perform a
virus test on the USB flash drive.

Power down the IP

edge

server.

Connect the IP

edge

EP server to the network (required for HMP

Setting during recovery).

Connect the keyboard, monitor and the USB flash drive to the IP

edge

EP server.

Power on the IP

edge

EP server.

Press the

F12

key on the keyboard to select boot device during

memory test display.

Use the keyboard cursor keys to highlight “USB” and press the

Enter

key.

When the Red Hat Enterprise Linux window appears press the

Enter

key to launch recovery process.

After recovery procedure is successfully done a Linux screen with a
message; the installation is complete will appear. Verify that

Installation Successful

is displayed.

Remove the USB flash drive.

10. If necessary press the tab key to highlight the Reboot button then

press

Enter

. The system will reboot. If the reboot button is not visible

press

Alt + F6

to change the screen.

Important!

You must remove the USB flash drive before you reboot
the system.
