model 2000 DeviceNet Module Manual (DN611/DN611A)
Chapter 1 Overview of the Devicenet Module

(3) Data Input/Output Method
The DN611 supports the "polling instruction/response" and "bit strobe instruction/
response" of the DeviceNet specifications as a means of data input/output to and
from slave devices.
"Polling instruction/response" and "bit strobe instruction/response" are explained in
detail in Section 1.4 Basic Functions.
(4) Examples of the System Configuration
An example of system configuration using the DN611 is explained here.
The DN611 is used mounted on the G2 bus for the model 2000 base. The S controller
can input/output data to and from the slave devices on the DeviceNet via the DN611.
In the following example, DN611s are connected to slave devices, such as input/
output devices, sensors, and drive units, which conforms with the DeviceNet
specifications. Moreover, TC-net 10, the LAN exclusive to TOSHIBA, is used to
connect one S controller to another, and Ethernet is used to connect the S controllers
to the host computer.
