Chapter 4 Operating Procedures for the DN611 (Software)
4
Note that the DN611 is subject to the following restrictions on transmission in size 0 byte
to polling type slave devices.
(5) Others
• The maximum number of slave devices that can be set by a single parameter set-
ting request is 10. If it is necessary to set more slave devices than that, change
the set parameter values and repeat parameter setting.
• It takes
about 4 seconds
to set the parameters of a slave device.
While slave device parameters are being set, the local node address blinks on the 7-
segment LED.
Restrictions
• When a slave device fails in communication with the DN611 due to some reason (slave
device power off or connector removed, for example), the DN611 cannot recognize whether
the slave device is abnormal.
Even after the cause of the abnormality is remedied, communication cannot be resumed
between the slave device and the DN611.
Caution
1. The parameter setting request (slave device) sets the parameters of slave devices in the non-
volatile memory of the DN611. It is not necessary to execute this request each time power is
switched on unless the slave devices configuration is changed.
When the slave device parameters in the non-volatile memory are identical with the slave
device parameters newly requested, parameter setting in the non-volatile memory will not take
place.
2. If the slave device configuration is changed, delete the slave device parameters from the non-
volatile memory, then register new slave device parameters.
3. Slave device parameters can be set in the non-volatile memory of the DN611 up to 300 times.
4. Note that the DN611 is subject to the following restrictions on transmission in size 0 byte to
polling type slave devices.
• When a slave device fails in communication with the DN611 due to some reason (slave
device power off or connector removed, for example), the DN611 cannot recognize
whether the slave device is abnormal.
Even after the cause of the abnormality is remedied, communication cannot be resumed
between the slave device and the DN611.
