10. Decommissioning the product / disposal
Torqeedo Travel motors are manufactured in accordance with EU Di-
rective 2002/96. This directive regulates the disposal of electrical and
electronic devices to protect the environment. You can, in line with
local regulations, hand in the motor at a collecting point. From there it
will be professionally disposed.
Respect Inspection date. Do not use after expiration date without having
an inspection carried out by an authorised Torqeedo Service Center.
10.1 Disposing of waste electrical and electronic equipment
For customers in EU countries
The Ultralight system is subject to European Community Directive
2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and
to corresponding national legislation. The WEEE Directive defines the
basis for how waste electrical and electronic equipment is to be handled
throughout the EU.
The Ultralight system bears the symbol of a crossed out wheeled bin
pictured on the left. Waste electrical and electronic equipment may not be disposed of
with normal household waste because substances with harmful effects on the health of
humans, animals and plants may be released into the environment and accumulate in the
food chain. At the same time, valuable raw materials will be lost.
For this reason, please dispose of your waste electrical equipment separately in an envi-
ronmentally sustainable manner; please contact Torqeedo Service or your boatbuilder for
more information.
For customers outside the EU
The Travel system is subject to European Community Directive 2012/19/EU on waste
electrical and electronic equipment.
We recommend that you do not dispose of the system with your normal household
