3. Turn the valve stem so that the ball is in the
open position (A of
Figure 102 ).
Note:
The valve stem should be parallel with
the valve flow and the ball should slide out.
4. Remove the stem retainer from the slots in the
stem port in the manifold (
Figure 103 and Figure
104 ).
5. Remove the stem retainer and valve-stem seat
from the manifold (
Figure 103 and Figure 104 ).
6. Reach into the manifold body and remove the
valve-stem assembly (
Figure 103 and Figure
104 ).
7. Clean the inside of the manifold and exterior
of the ball valve, valve-stem assembly, stem
capture, and end fittings.
Assembling the Manifold Valve
1. Check the condition of the outlet fitting O-rings
(section-valve manifold only) , end cap
O-rings, back seating O-rings, ball seat for
damage or wear (
Figure 103 and Figure 104 ).
Note:
Replace any damaged or worn O-rings
or seats.
2. Apply grease to the valve stem and insert it into
the valve-stem seat (
Figure 103 and Figure 104 ).
3. Install the valve stem and seat it into the
manifold and secure the stem and seat with the
stem retainer (
Figure 103 and Figure 104 ).
4. Ensure that the back seating O-ring and the ball
seat are aligned and seated into the end-cap
fitting (
Figure 103 and Figure 104 ).
5. Install the quick connect onto the manifold body
until the flange of the end-cap fitting touches the
manifold body, then turn the end-cap fitting an
additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn (
Figure 103 and Figure
104 ).
Note:
Use caution to prevent damaging the
end of the fitting.
6. Insert the ball into the valve body ( Figure 105 ).
Note:
The valve stem should fit inside the
ball-drive slot. If the valve stem does not fit,
adjust the position of the ball (
Figure 105 ).

7. Turn the valve-stem assembly so that the valve
is closed (B of
Figure 102 ).
8. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other end-cap-fitting
assembly.
