Add forwarding rules based on some characteristics which identify the
IP traffic to forward.
You may define several forwarding rules. However, be careful with
rules’ order as only the first matching rule found in the list, from top
to bottom, will be applied.
Avoid setting forwarding rules on the transport streams that are
already managed by a switch.
 Define one or several destination interfaces where the received
session will be forwarded and indicate a back-up destination Gigabit
Ethernet interface where the traffic will be sent when the destination
Gigabit Ethernet interface is link-down. To know how to define a
destination interface, refer to
Section ’Defining a Destination
Interface for a Forwarding Rule’ on page 85
If you do not specify destination interfaces, the traffic will be
forwarded to all interfaces.

Forwarding Rules Parameters
For each forwarding rule, set the parameters that identify the IP traffic to
forward:

Name : enter a proper name for the forwarding rule.
 Ethernet Protocol : IPv4, ARP.
 Define source interface : check the box to select the Gigabit Ethernet
interface to use as a source. Choose it from the drop-down list. If no
source is defined, the rule is applied to all interfaces (Eth1 to Eth4).
 Define protocol : check the box to select the protocol (TCP, UDP, ICMP,
IGMP) from the drop-down list.
 Define source IP address : check the box to enter the source IP address
in the field.
 Define source UDP port : check the box to enter the source TCP/UDP
port in the field.
 Define destination IP address : check the box to enter the destination IP
address in the field.
 Define destination UDP port : check the box to enter the destination
TCP/UDP port.
 VLAN : set to Define VLAN if you want to forward the IP traffic of a
given VLAN, in which case indicate its identifier; or else leave to No
VLAN .
