Chapter I

General Information

This user guide covers the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting for

the Thermo Scientific Orion 2120XP calcium hardness analyzer, which

offers unmatched reliability in analyzing calcium hardness from sodium

zeolite softener effluent and drinking water applications.

Monitoring the calcium hardness ion content to prevent boiler tube

scaling or to control water hardness in municipal water applications

requires a well designed and maintained system. The system must optimize

the fluidic design with the sensing technology to provide accurate and

precise results with an almost instantaneous indication of calcium hardness

concentration changes.
