• Remove the fi bre tubes around the fi bre at the point of min. 30 mm from the point where the sheath
was cut.
o Note. Try fi rst the stripping of the fi bre tubes before the actual work make sure that you have
a suitable stripping tool. A wrong stripping tool can cause damages or even cut the fi bres!
• Clean the fi bres from the fi lling compound.
• Loop the fi bres on the splice tray.
5.2.9 Splicing of fibres
• Splice the fi bres of the outdoor cables to the fi bres of the pigtail cables with a fusion splicer.
• Loop the spliced fi bres on the splice tray not exceeding the bending radius (min. 40 mm) and position
the splice protection sleeves to the holders according to the fi bre order.
• Fasten the cover of the splice tray.
• Mount the splice trays, fi bre tubes and pigtail cables from the splice trays into their positions in the
splice module, closure or cabinet.
