Operating Basics

This first part of this section provides information about operating the VM700T
Video Measurement Set and describes the user interface features. The second
part describes how to configure the Video Measurement Set and the system file
structure.

Front Panel Operation

The VM700T Video Measurement Set front panel (Figure 2--1) consists of a
touch screen and a 20-button keypad with a control knob.

The display (CRT) area of the VM700T is also a touch screen for user input. The
screen displays input waveform signals, the digital vectorscope, a low-resolution
television picture of the input signal, graphic measurement displays, and
automatic measurement results. Many operations are performed by selecting soft
keys (menu-controlled touch screen controls) at the bottom of the display; when
applicable, selection values are changed by rotating the control knob.
