How to Remove an Attenuator
The

2 Attenuators are identical.

Remove lhe front panel as outlined in “How to Remove
Front Panel.”
Unplug
that connects the
to the Al Main board.
Use a
T-S screwdriver to remove the
screws from the component side
of the Al Main board that
the
attenuator (refer to Fig. 3-S).
Set the plug-in on its side with the attenuator bodies
a
T-6 screwdriver to remove the four screws
Fasted the front of
the attenuator to the front
Lift up the rear end of the attenuator about
from the board
care-
fully withdraw the attenuator from the instrument.
Note that the two metal-an-elastomer (MOE) strips are sitting free in the
MOE holder.
How to Install an Attenuator

Set the plug-in on its side with the pushbuttons down.
Put a metal-on-elastomer (MOE) strip holder on the Main board in the
location (refer to Fig. 3-5).
Put the two MOE
in
holder. The exposed elastomer side of each
strip should face the center of the holder.
Insert the BNC end of the
through the hole in the front subpanel,
then let it
on the Al Main board.
While holding the attenuator against the MOE
the plug-in so
that you can install the two screws thar
the attenuator to the Al Main
board. These screws require a
T-8 screwdriver; do not tighten them yet.
