Remove the media guide gear and set aside. Then, unscrew the two screws exposed
after the guides were removed.

Locate the counter-sunk screw on the right side of the mechanism. Locate the head

locking switch. The appropriate screw is located approximately 2 cm to the rear.
Remove that screw.

Spread the enclosure apart slightly. Then, lift the enclosure back and up, away from

the rest of the printer. To access the base portion of the enclosure, refer to the Main-

tenance Manual. Remove both the mechanism and the main electronic (GMC) to
access the base enclosure.
