Hookflash
Your telephone can be set up to use only one of the following three party functions, as defined through your Class of
Service.
Broker Call:
This feature allows you to put a call on hold and then converse privately with a third party, while switching between the two
calls. The party not in conversation is automatically put on hold and cannot hear any other conversation.
Consultation Call:
This feature allows you to consult with a third party while the original caller is placed on hold. After consultation is
complete the two original parties are reconnected and the consulted party is then released.
Three-Way Conference Call:
This feature allows you to bring a third party into an ongoing conversation. All three parties can converse in a three-way
party conference.
Continuous Conference:
This feature allows an authorized user to continue adding participants to an established 3-way call, effectively turning the
call into a multi-party conference call (up to 6 or 15 members, depending on system hardware).
Combination Consultation/Broker/Three-Way Conference Call:
This feature allows you to change a conversation from broker to consultation to three-way conference by hookflashing
while in conversation. The first hookflash allows you to converse privately with a third party. The second hookflash allows
you to speak privately with the original party, while the third party is put on hold. The third hookflash places you in a three-
way conversation with all parties.
