Odd Shelf Numbering

The shelves with no PB-ATS cards installed on them, are defined as odd shelves and

must be connected to an even shelf (above or below) via an FC16 (100cm) or FC18

(50cm discontinued) cable, see

Figure 6-24

. The FC16 cable is connected between the

PBD24S (located on the backplane of the odd shelf) and P1 on the PBD-ATS of the

related even shelf. Its shelf number is defined as the even shelf 1. Therefore,

the odd shelf connected to Shelf #0 is defined as Shelf #1, the odd shelf connected to

Shelf #2 is defined as Shelf #3, etc.
