4-11 Accessing the Backplane
The SC848 chassis backplane is located behind the hard drives and in front of the
middle system fans. In order to change jumper settings on the backplane, it may
be necessary to remove the backplane from the chassis.
Removing the Backplane
1. Power down the system, unplug the power cords from the back of the power
supply and remove the chassis cover.
2. Pull all of the existing hot-swappable hard drives half-way out of their drive
bays in the front of the chassis.
3. Disconnect the cabling to the backplane.
4. Remove the four upper screws securing backplane housing to the chassis
and set these aside for later use.
