7. Align the four heatsink fasteners with
the mounting holes on the motherboard.
Gently push diagonal pairs of fasteners
(#1 & #2 and #3 & #4) into the mounting
holes until you hear a click. Orient each
fastener so that the narrow end of the
groove points outward.
5-6 Installing Memory Modules
Note : Check the Supermicro web site for recommended memory modules.
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM
modules to prevent any possible damage.
Installing & Removing DIMMs
Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with 1.
DIMM #1A. For best performance, please use the memory modules of the
same type and speed.
Press down the release tabs on the ends of a memory slot. Insert each DIMM 2.
module vertically into its slot. Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of
the module to prevent inserting the DIMM module incorrectly.
Gently press down on the DIMM module until it snaps into place in the slot. 3.
Repeat for all modules.
Reverse the steps above to remove the DIMM modules from the mother- 4.
board.
