Maintaining the Sun Fire X4500 and X4540 Servers

5. Install the SSD (in drive bracket) into the drive bay of the system.
Push the drive into the bay until it stops and is fully engaged with the connector
on the drive backplane. Push down the metal handle so it properly locks into
place.

6. Replace the disk drives access cover. See
“To Install the Drives Access Cover” on
page 13
.
7. Configure the new disk drive.
Refer to your operating system documentation for information on adding a new
disk drive.
Note –
If the drives were previously configured as a RAID 1 (or higher) array, an
automatic resynchronization is invoked and the contents are automatically rebuilt
from the rest of the array with no need to reconfigure the RAID parameters. If the
bad drive was configured as a spare, the new drive is automatically configured as a
new spare.
