PCI Cards
To replace a PCI card, follow these steps:
1.
Before removing the cover to work inside the system, observe the previously stated safety guidelines.
2.
Remove the chassis cover.
3.
As shown in Figure 70, insert your finger in the plastic loop (A).

4.
Pull straight up and remove the riser card assembly from the chassis.
5.
Open the retainer clip (B) on the riser card retention bracket.
6.
Pull the PCI card out of the riser card slot (C).
7.
Install the new PCI add-in card on the riser.

Caution
: Before touching or replacing any component inside the LX50 server, disconnect all
external cables and follow the instructions in “Safety: Before You Remove the Cover” on
page 5-2 and “Removing and Replacing the Cover” on page 5-3. Always place the server on a
grounded ESD pad and wear a properly grounded antistatic wrist strap.

Note:
Add-in cards must be replaced while the riser card is removed from the chassis.
The server supports 3 V only and Universal PCI cards. It does not support 5 V only cards.
