Troubleshooting
15. Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting table ENS 14 A - 18 A
Situation
Cause
Solution
Explanation
No mist
production
A1
Unit is not in
operation
Start up the unit; check function of control
system
If the upstream control system is not functioning,
neither can the unit function.
A2
No supply voltage Check electrical supply, ensure power is
supplied to the unit
If the electrical supply between the humidifier and
the control system is interrupted, the unit will not
function.
A3
Not enabled
Enabling by control system, or flush func
-
tion active, setpoint was reached; check
control system parameters and reset if
necessary
If the control system does not enable the unit or
the unit is in "Flush mode", no mist is produced.
A4
No clean water
supply
Check drinking water supply (all taps
open, on-site filters clogged, etc.), ensure
a supply of water, check fill valve
The low water float switch FS2 was triggered by a
low water level, and has stopped the unit.
A5
Water level too
low
Check drinking water supply and upstream
water treatment system, ensure a supply,
check fill valve, check drain
If the fill valve does not open or the drain is contin
-
uously open, a sufficiently high water level can no
longer be reached, the low water float switch FS2
stops the unit
A6
Safety chain
triggered
Check float switches FS1 and FS2, check
voltage to motherboard (CH) slot CN1
contact 1/2 and slot CN2 contact 5
If a float switch does not switch correctly or the
thermostat or water warning system has switched,
the unit stops the oscillators.
A7
Water does not
drain freely
Check water drain and repair if necessary
The water supply float switch FS1 was triggered
by a high water level, and closes the fill valve.
Water may escape from the overflow.
A8
Faulty atomizer
unit
Check electrical supply H1/G1 and H2/G2
If the oscillators do not function despite the power
being on, they are faulty.
Low mist
production
B1
Supply voltage
too low
Check transformer
If the transformer does not generate 48V AC
(+/- 10%), the supply voltage is too low for normal
operation.
B2
Unit is incorrectly
installed
Check that the unit is installed as
described in the "Humidifier distance"
section
If the unit is not horizontal, or if the mist cannot be
correctly distributed in the room due to incorrect
mounting, this will affect mist production.
B3
Worn atomizers
Check operating hours, visually inspect
oscillators
The capacity of the oscillators declines if they are
dirty or have reached the end of their life.
B4
Request by con
-
trol system
Check setpoints and actual values
If the setpoint given by the control system is
approximately reached, depending on the control
system the oscillators may only be requested to
act briefly.
B5
Inadequate
airflow
Check installation, fan and air filter
If the airflow volume is too low due to a faulty fan,
a clogged filter or an incorrectly installed unit, this
directly affects mist production.
B6
Intake pressure
of demineralized
drinking water
too low
Check drinking water supply and upstream
water treatment system and ensure a sup
-
ply if necessary; optimize supply channels
If the intake pressure at the humidifier is insuffi
-
cient, the fill valve cannot be guaranteed to open
reliably.
Water escapes
from the
overflow
C1
"Upper water
level" float switch
is not triggered
Check correct seating and function of float
switch
The water supply float switch FS1 should close
the supply valve when the maximum water level is
reached.
C2
Supply valve
does not close
Check function of supply valve
If the valve is open (e.g. clogging, mechanical
fault), water is fed to the humidifier continuously.
C3
Drain is
obstructed
Check drain and drainage valve
If the drain is blocked, the flush valve is closed
or the unit is not correctly installed, water may
escape from the overflow
