Upflow Configuration Air Patterns
In an upflow configured unit, the conditioned supply air has two methods of discharge: ducted or through a
grilled, 2 or 3-way discharge air plenum box (see Figure 10). The return air pattern is front free return.
The supply air outlet is provided with a flange for connecting ductwork (refer to the installation drawing provided
with the unit). The connection of ductwork to the unit may be made with either pop rivets or self-tapping screws.
If ductwork is to be used, always consult your state and local codes when determining ducting requirements.
The duct system should be designed to allow the air to move with as little resistance as possible.
