MATERIAL SPOOL INSTALLATION
Once you’ve properly prepared a material spool, you can begin the process of loading material. Pre-loading
filament to the drive wheels places a spool’s filament into position to be loaded to the liquefier tip within the
head. Once filament is detected by the filament present switch, it can then be completely loaded to the liquefier
tip.
To install and load a material spool:
1.
Ensure that the printer is stopped (idle) and is not building.
2.
Select the
Materials
button from the Navigation Menu; a screen similar to the following figure will
be displayed. The information displayed represents the current configuration of your printer.
3.
Observe the status information displayed for each of the Materials Status Icons. A Material Status
Icon with a dashed gray border indicates that a material spool is not present in the material’s
corresponding material bay. A completely gray Head Status Icon indicates that material is not
loaded to that head.
4.
Open the material bay drawer.
5.
Insert the material spool you’d like to load into its appropriate slot within the material bay.
•
Pull up on the latch securing the lid corresponding to the material bay you’d like to load, this will
unlock the lid.
•
Open the lid to expose the slot where the material spool will be inserted.
•
Place the material spool into the slot making sure the filament tail is facing the back wall of the
material bay.
•
Once the spool is inserted, the Material Status Icon will refresh and display a solid yellow border with
a notification badge directly above the icon.
