5.2.3 – Roof temperature sensor (if solar is used)
The SplashMe Automation Controller comes with its own ambient roof temperature sensor. It
is generally used by the solar controller to control the solar pump. Even if the solar controller
function is not used, it still may be beneficial to install as it will provide a real time reading of
the ambient temperature on the app.
Fixing sensor to roof
Choose a location that is close to the solar collectors. This will provide the most accurate
temperature conditions of the solar system.
Installing and connecting the sensor
Instructions
1.
Attach the stainless-steel temperature sensor to a piece of rubber, silicone or solar
collector ensuring it isn’t in direct contact with any steel roofing material
2.
Attach the sensor using a silicone-based adhesive.
3.
Run the wires through the bottom grommet so it can be connected to the roof
temperature terminals 1 and 2
Note
Do not mount the sensor in direct contact with the roof or in shade as
it will result in inaccurate temperature readings.
Do Not over tighten terminal screws
The sensor is not polarity sensitive so it does not matter which way
the wires are connected.
Warning
All electrical connections and installations to be done by a
licenced
electrician
