Using the Effect dialog box
You can use the Effect dialog box to select important elements and apply them
to effect parameters.
To enter effects
• Press an L key to select the parameter that you want to set. You can also
press the B1 key (Next Param) to select the next parameter.
• For parameters other than Pattern and Manual Trans, rotate the MULTI
CONTROL dial to the left or right to increase or decrease the numeric
settings in ±1 increments. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as your rotate
the MULTI CONTROL dial to change the settings in larger increments (100
for the audio transition time, 10 for all other settings).
• For parameters other than Pattern and Manual Trans, press SHIFT + L key to
enter numbers directly. If an entry exceeds the maximum entry allowed for
the parameter, the leftmost digit is deleted.
• When Manual Trans is selected, you can move the fader position with the
MULTI CONTROL knob. At this time the fader position mark is displayed at
the top of the monitor display. If a border effect has been selected, you can
confirm the effect of changes on the monitor as you make adjustments by
changing the fader position and parameters.
• Press the B2 key (Auto Trans) to perform auto transition operation and
confirm the value of the current setting for video effect operation. During
auto transition operation, press the B2 key (Auto Trans) to halt transition, and
then press it again to restart transition. When the fader position is at a
position other than either end, when you perform auto transition the operation
stops at the fader position.
• Press the B4 key (Fit Audio Trans) to synchronize the audio transition time
with the currently selected transition time (rounded up if less than 1ms).
• Pressing the RESET button restores all the initial settings for the parameters
of the currently selected effect pattern.
To enter effect settings
• Press the B7 (OK) key to save and enable the effect settings. After you press
the B7 (OK) key the entries in the Effect dialog box are applied to the edit
data.
• If you want to cancel the Effect dialog box entries and return to the settings in
effect before you opened the dialog box, press the B6 (Cancel) key.
Notes
• The fader position is reset to zero when the Effect dialog box is opened and
closed.
• The upper limit for both video and audio transition time is 10 seconds.
• With the optional BKMA-730 board installed and the P3 port selected as the
Player, when the Player device is selected by pressing the PLAYER button,
the Effect dialog box cannot be opened. Select the recorder device with the
RECORDER button, then open the Effect dialog box.
