Appendix E: Replacing System Components
This appendix details replacement procedures for the SolarEdge system components.
NOTE
If you are permanently disassembling the installation or part of it, make sure to use the disposal
methods dictated by local regulations.
Replacing the Primary Unit
1. Turn OFF the Inverter ON/OFF switch, and wait until the green LED is blinking , indicating that the DC
voltage is safe (<50V), or wait five minutes before continuing to the next step.
WARNING!
If you cannot see Primary Unit LEDs or you cannot connect to the Primary Unit, or if the red LED
light is on indicating a malfunction , wait five minutes for the input capacitors of the inverter to
discharge.
2. Disconnect the AC to the inverter by turning OFF the circuit breakers on the distribution panel.
3. For a 3-unit inverter first disconnect and remove the Secondary Unit on the right.
4. Open the Primary Unit cover:
a. Release the six Allen screws of the cover.
b. Tilt the top of the cover towards you.
c. Slide the cover down and remove it.
CAUTION!
When removing the cover, make sure not to damage internal components. SolarEdge will not be
held responsible for any components damaged as a result of incautious cover removal.
5. Disconnect all DC, AC wires and the communication connectors from the Primary Unit.

6. Unscrew the two conduit nuts in the Primary Unit securing it to the Connection Unit.
