– This example adds an address to the static address table, but sets it to be
deleted when the switch is reset.
Displaying the Address Table
The Dynamic Address Table contains the MAC addresses learned by monitoring the
source address for traffic entering the switch. When the destination address for
inbound traffic is found in the database, the packets intended for that address are
forwarded directly to the associated port. Otherwise, the traffic is flooded to all ports.
Command Attributes
•
Interface
– Indicates a port or trunk.
•
MAC Address
– Physical address associated with this interface.
•
VLAN
– ID of configured VLAN (1-4093).
•
Address Table Sort Key
– You can sort the information displayed based on MAC
address, VLAN or interface (port or trunk).
•
Dynamic Address Counts
– The number of addresses dynamically learned.
•
Current Dynamic Address Table
– Lists all the dynamic addresses.
Web
– Click Address Table, Dynamic Addresses. Specify the search type (i.e., mark
the Interface, MAC Address, or VLAN checkbox), select the method of sorting the
displayed addresses, and then click Query.
