3.3 RF Connector
The IDP-800 is optionally available to support a remote antenna. The remote antenna
terminal variant uses an SMA panel connector.
The terminal must only be used with an active SkyWave antenna. Refer to APPENDIX A
for antenna order part numbers.

3.3.1 Antenna Cut Detection
For remote antenna versions, the terminal can detect when the antenna is disconnected. It
detects the antenna disconnect by monitoring the DC current to the antenna when it is
receiving either a GPS or IsatData Pro signal.
3.4 Pass-Through Mode
The terminal operates in pass-through mode when there is no application firmware
present. A block diagram of pass-through mode is shown in Figure 9. In pass-through
mode, the terminal connects the modem's serial interface to the terminal's
RS-232 port.

The terminal's I/O lines are configured as per Table 14 when in pass-through mode. The
modem's serial data and the EVENT_NOTIFICATION pins are connected to the
terminal's external connector.

When in pass-through mode, there are no inputs for the application controller to sample.
