Digital input with 30-50 kΩ pull down
Digital input with 30-50 kΩ pull-up
Analog input with weak (1 MΩ) pull-down
Digital output – push-pull
Digital output – open drain switch-to-ground with weak (1 MΩ) pull-down
Disabled (equivalent to analog input)
The I/O lines are functionally interchangeable in every way except for two additional
features:
I/O 01 can also be configured as a digital input with a nominal 1 mA current sink
for automotive ignition detection.
I/O 03 has dedicated over current/short circuit protection circuitry when operated
in the open drain, switch-to-ground mode. The other I/O lines do not have this
circuitry, so I/O 03 is recommended for applications requiring over current/short
circuit protection.
Each of the three configurable I/O lines has an identical block of circuitry that provides:
Input voltage clamping
Filtering
Switch-to-Ground for loads up to 250 mA
Each of the configurable I/O lines can generate an interrupt in order to wake up the
processor from the Power Save mode. To generate the interrupt, the interrupt line should
be configured and enabled.
