Simrad SD570

5. RANGE CONTROLS

The selected range is displayed in the upper right-hand corner of

the display. The ranges are: 125, 250, 375, 500 , 750, 1000, 1500,

2000, 3000 and 4000 meters.

To make an optimal position tracking or target tracking

programme, the range selection will go to AUTO when selecting

these modes. To keep a steady display picture during seine

setting, the lower automatic range is set to 400 meters. Changing

the range or pressing the MAN button will stop the auto-ranging.

The sonar is designed to work with different range measurement

units such as meters or feet for distance, and meters, feet or

fathoms for depth. The choice can be made in the CONSTANTS

menu.
