The
BEARING CARD
is shown in white colour outermost
in the echo ring, and is relative to the ship’s bow. The
bearing card has a stroke for each 10
°
.
2
The
COMPASS CARD
is also shown outermost in the echo
ring, but in a yellow colour. Because this compass card is a
replica of the course readout in the lower right-hand corner,
and always depends on a correct adjustment and
interfacing to the gyro, this readout should never be used
for navigation.
3
The
DISTANCE RINGS
are shown with white dashed
rings in the horizontal pictures, and white dashed lines in
the vertical pictures. The distance rings and lines divide the
total range into four, to make it easier to calculate the
distance or depth to a target.
4
The
CURSOR RING
is a yellow dashed ring with a radius
like the distance to the yellow cursor cross. The size of the
ring will change when operating the cursor joystick, and it
can then be used for distance measurements.
5
The
CURSOR BEARING
is a yellow line from the ship
symbol through the yellow cursor cross, and can be used for
bearing measurements.
6
The
BOW MARKER
is a white dashed line which is an
extension of the bow or the sailing direction. This marker is
useful as a sight for the ship’s manoeuvring.
7
The
COURSE LINE
indicates the ship’s and targets’
movement as a path after the symbol. The length of the
course line depends on the manoeuvring of the symbol. To
erase the course line, it has to be ”switched OFF” in this
menu.
8
The
MINUTE MARKERS
are shown as small circles on the
ship’s and targets’ course line. In the audio and echo
sounder modes, they are shown as small lines at the top of
the recordings.
9
The
WIND MARKER
is indicated in the outermost area of
the echo presentation as an arrow. This arrow can be
manually adjusted in the WIND MARKER menu to show
the wind or current direction.
10
The
VERTICAL RING
shows the selected range of the
vertical slice as a white circle in the horizontal picture. This
will then be an indication of which distance a target should
be presented in the vertical slice.
