The unit is intended for fixed installation, to
be done ONLY by a specialised and qualified
contractor, pursuant to Italian Ministerial
Decree 37/08, and in observance of the
instructions given in the this manual. The
following must also be observed: Fire
Department and Utility Company regu-
lations, the requirements of Italian Law
10/91 on Municipal Regulations, and Italian
Presidential Decree 412/93.
2 .1 CONSIGNMENT
MURELLE 110 BOX ErP heating modules
are supplied with a pre-painted galvanised
steel enclosure. They are complete with
hydraulic compensator and INAIL safety
kit. The following are available separately:
– Polypropylene flue gas manifold kit for
indoors installation, code 8102510.
– Flue gas outlet terminal, code 8089530
for outdoors installation.
To install the flue gas outlet (indoors or
outdoors), refer to par. 2.6 and 2.7 of the
manual.
2 .2 INSTALLATION
2 .2 .1 Indoors
MURELLE 110 BOX ErP
heating modules
can be installed in boiler rooms with of the
size and type indicated in Italian Ministerial
Decree 12/04/96 n. 74 “Approval of tech-
nical fire regulations for the design, con-
struction and operation of gas powered
heating systems”. In order to assure a flow
of air into the room, ventilation openings
must be made in the external walls, cal-
culated pursuant to point 4.1.2 of the said
Decree, and in any case no less than 3,000
cm
2
and 5,000 cm
2
.in the case of gas of
density greater than 0.8.
2 .2 .2 Outdoors
MURELLE 110 BOX ErP
can also be
installed outdoors using the single module
flue gas outlet, code 8089530.
2 .3
HOOK UP
To protect the heating system against cor-
rosion, encrustations and deposits, it is
essential that the heating circuit be washed
out pursuant to UNI-CTI 8065, using appro-
priate products like
Sentinel X300 (new
systems), X400 and X800 (old systems)
or Fernox Cleaner F3
. Full instructions
are included with the products, but we
recommend contacting the manufacturer
SENTINEL PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS
LTD or FERNOX COOKSON ELECTRONICS
for further information if necessary.
Once the circuit has been washed, we rec-
ommend using an inhibitor like
Sentinel
X100 or Fernox Protector F1
to protect
it against corrosion and the formation of
deposits. It is important to check the
concentration of the inhibitor after each
modification to the system and at mainte-
nance checks, as prescribed by the man-
ufacturer (suitable tests are available from
the reseller). The relief valve outlet must be
connected to a drain funnel to convey the
fluid away if the valve trips.
WARNING: Failure to wash the heating
circuit or add a suitable inhibitor to it voids
the appliance’s warranty .
The gas hookup must be conforming with
UNI 7129 and UNI 7131. When sizing the
gas pipes from the meter to the module,
account for both the volumetric flow (con-
sumption) in m
3
/h and the density of the
gas supply. The cross section of the pipes
must be such as to assure a gas supply suf-
ficient to cover peak demand, while limiting
the pressure drop between the meter and
any services to no more than 1.0 mbar for
second family gases (natural gas).
A label is affixed inside the module which
bears its technical specifications and the
type of gas for which it is configured.
2 .3 .1 Hooking up the condensate outlet
To collect the condensate, hook up the drip
siphon to the domestic water drain with a
pipe running at a slope of at least 5 mm/m.
Only use a normal plastic domestic drain
pipe to convey the condensate to the drain .
2 .3 .2 Gas pipe filter
The gas valve comes fitted with an intake
filter which however is not able to retain all
the impurities in the gas and mains pipes.
To prevent the filter operating poorly, or in
some cases even disabling its safety func-
tion, we recommend fitting a suitable filter
to the gas line.
2 .5
FILLING THE CIRCUIT INITIALLY
(fig . 4)
The filling pressure with the system cold
must be
1 .5 bar
. Fill the system slowly,
to enable air bubbles to escape via the
provided vents.
Once filled, re-arm the red button on the
minimum water pressure switch to enable
the boiler to run .
2 .5 .1 Draining the circuit
To drain the system, shut the boiler off and
open the drain valve (19 fig. 3).
2 .6
FLUE GAS OUTLET FOR
OUTDOORS INSTALLATIONS (fig . 5)
For this kind of installation, request the sin-
gle module outlet terminal , code 8089530.
For the installation of the optional accesso-
ry, refer to fig. 5.
