Servicing

•  It is recommended that the tool is serviced shortly after its first use
• Ensure the tool is regularly serviced when in use
•  Do not attempt to alter any of the components of this tool. To do so

would not only invalidate the guarantee, but may also result in injury

•  Always have the tool serviced at an authorised service centre

Storage

• When you have finished using the tool, clean it thoroughly
•  Be careful not to hit or cut the fuel tank, or fuel lines, when the tool is

placed on the ground

• Do not let the tool fall or it may be damaged and become unsafe
• Store the tool away from direct sunlight
•  Ensure that fuel and oil is stored in a safe place, away from heat, direct

sunlight, any source of ignition, and out of reach of children

Whenever the machine is out of use for an extended period of time,
proceed as follows:
• Empty the fuel tank completely
• Protect all metal engine parts from corrosion by coating them with oil
•  Remove the spark plug, put a few drops of oil into the cylinder and then

pull the recoil starter 2 to 3 times in order to distribute the oil evenly

• Replace the spark plug and spark plug lead

THIS PRODUCT PRODUCES POISONOUS EXHAUST FUMES
AS SOON AS THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THESE GASES MAY
BE COLOURLESS AND ODOURLESS. TO REDUCE THE RISK
OF SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY, NEVER RUN THE MACHINE
INDOORS OR IN POORLY VENTILATED AREAS. ENSURE
PROPER VENTILATION WHEN WORKING IN TRENCHES OR
OTHER CONFINED SPACES.

Generator Safety

The generator is designed to give safe and reliable service if operated
according to this manual. Read and understand this manual before
operating the generator. You can prevent accidents by familiarising
yourself with the generator's controls and safe operating procedures.

Operator Responsibility

• Know how to stop the generator quickly in an emergency
•  Ensure you know how to use all the generator controls, output

receptacles and connections

•  Ensure anybody who operates the generator has received proper

instruction. Do not let children operate the generator

• Never leave the tool running unattended
•  Always wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before

leaving it

• Never leave the machine unattended when parts are still hot
• Never leave machine unattended where children may have access to it

Carbon Monoxide Dangers

•  The generators exhaust fumes contain poisonous carbon monoxide gas,

which is both colourless and odourless. Breathing the exhaust fumes
can cause loss of consciousness and may lead to death

•  If the generator is running in an enclosed or even partially enclosed

space, the air could contain dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.
Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent build-up of exhaust fumes

Electric Shock Hazards

•  The generator produces enough electric power to cause a serious shock

or electrocution if not correctly used

•  Using the generator in wet conditions, rain, snow, near ponds or

sprinkler systems or even wet or damp hands could result in death
