Example 

The following creates protocol group 1, and specifies Ethernet frames with IP 
and ARP protocol types:

This command maps a protocol group to a VLAN for the current interface. Use

Command Usage

When creating a protocol-based VLAN, only assign interfaces via this 
command. If you assign interfaces using any of the other VLAN 
commands (such as the 

vlan

 command), these interfaces will admit traffic 

of any protocol type into the associated VLAN.

◆

When MAC-based, IP subnet-based, and protocol-based VLANs are 
supported concurrently, priority is applied in this sequence, and then port-
based VLANs last.

◆

When a frame enters a port that has been assigned to a protocol VLAN, it 
is processed in the following manner:
