The technology modules are integrated into the hardware configuration (HW Config) of the 

SIMATIC STEP 7 engineering system and are assigned parameters there. 
HW Config is used by SIMOTION SCOUT and SIMATIC STEP 7 to configure the hardware of 

an automation project.  
Irrespective of whether you work with SIMATIC STEP 7 or SIMOTION SCOUT, the 

parameterization is always performed in HW Config.
