Selecting replacement thyristors
Use only the approved thyristor types for the mounting location. Observe the equipment
installation log when replacing the thyristor.
DANGER
Danger when not complying with the five safety rules
Work must only be performed on adequately grounded power unit. Non-observance of the
five safety rules can cause death or serious injury. Serious material damage can also result.
• Observe the five safety rules.
You can replace thyristors within 5 minutes using simple tools. Plastic holders support the
thyristors against the heat sinks. The heat sinks are suspended on springs. A cup-spring
assembly produces the necessary clamping force in the stack.
Removing a thyristor
1. Insert the open-ended wrench

2. Keep the cup-spring assembly under tension with the open-ended wrench.
3. Use the socket wrench to loosen the clamping screw until the thyristors are resting loosely in
the plastic holders.
4. Pull the two gating leads off the thyristor.
5. Take the thyristor out.
