Operation
DENY ACCESS
Pressed at the controlling console to
deny control to a console requesting it.
The requesting console will automati-
cally receive access after a prepro-
grammed period if
DENY ACCESS
is
not
pressed.
Selecting the External Source
The
Other
signal shares the micro-
phone with the audio channel
(Channel 1). You can have the System
select the
Other
signal automatically
using event logic or you can select it
manually using
SEL OTHER.
Pressing
EXT SOURCE
lights an LED
next to that button and transfers the
audio source for the
Other
signal from
an internal device such as a tone
generator or message player to an
external source.
Telephone Operation
The MXLV can support 5 active
remote telephones at one time on a
single zone or spread across several
zones.
To use a remote telephone:
Take the phone off the hook or plug
it in. You will hear a steady tone (if
the dial tone was selected in CSG-M)
until your zone is selected at the
command console.
Speak into the telephone. Any other
telephones on the same zone that
are taken off the hook are immedi-
ately connected to the common talk
line. Telephones from different zones
must be selected at the command
console before they can join the
common talk line.
Telephone Zone LEDs
A call-in from any telephone zone
causes the zones red LED to flash and
the call-in audible to sound. When you
press the switch for that zone, the
audible goes silent and the LED glows
steady. The zone is then connected to
the common talk line and can commu-
nicate with the telephone at the
command console. A subsequent zone
that calls in repeats this procedure.
A fault in a telephone zone is signified
by a steady yellow LED and a pulsing
trouble audible. (Press
TROUBLE ACK
to acknowledge the trouble and silence
the trouble audible.)
Auto Telephone Zones in Wardens Page
You can program your System in CSG-M
to select any telephone zone as an
Automatic All Call Warden Page Zone.
Any such zone is automatically con-
nected to the microphone channel
when its phone is taken off the hook or
plugged in. At the same time, all
speaker
zones so selected in CSG-M
become active on the selected channel.
(Speaker zone LEDs flash green and
then change to steady green as they
become active.)
NOTE:
The FT-302 remote phone must
be used in this application.
