10.8.2 Time-controlled
restart
NOTE
If a video stream is transmitted from the IP camera, the Watchdog is inactive and a time-controlled
restart cannot be performed by the Ping Watchdog.

Mark the
Enable time-controlled restart
checkbox.

Enter the time in the field (HH:MM), e.g. 12:00.

The device will restart every day at the set time.

Restart the device to apply the new settings.
10.8.3 Restart by Ping Watchdog
NOTE

gateway (next hop)
IP address in the
Remote host to ping
field.

Enter the desired cycle time in seconds in the
Frequency
box, e.g. 30.

The device will ping the
remote host to ping
you have entered every 30
seconds.
IMPORTANT
Malfunction with incorrect timeout value
The system hangs and a restart by the Ping Watchdog is not possible.

Please ensure that the timeout value is at least three times greater than the
frequency.

Enter the desired cycle time in seconds in the
Timeout
field, e.g. 125.

A restart will be triggered if the return ping from the
remote host for ping
you
have entered is not received within 125 seconds.
The timeout value must be a multiple of the cycle time (the value entered in
Frequency
).
In the event of an unexpected system problem, this ensures the device
becomes available again after 2 to 3 minutes.
5.
Restart the device to apply the new settings.
