Cooling
Self-cooling
The motors are designed for self-cooling.
The rated data only apply if the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C (104 °F) as a
result of the installation conditions.
Recommendation:
Maintain a gap of 100 mm to adjacent components on at least three sides in order to allow
waste heat to dissipate.

Only connect the ventilation unit via a suitable motor contactor (not included in the
scope of delivery).

The ventilation unit can, in principle, be retrofitted. This is performed exclusively by
SIEMENS Service.
Note: changed plug size/winding.
Do not take heated outgoing air in again to cool the motor.
Minimum clearances of the air exhaust outlet from customized components:
Water-cooling
Closed coolant circuit with heat exchange unit required. Water cooling cannot be retrofitted.
If the cooling circuit has been filled and frost can be expected, a commercially available
antifreeze agent must be added. Please refer to the manufacturer's documentation for
usage and dosage (max. 50 %). Do not mix different types of antifreeze.
Do not use any nonferrous metals (e.g. copper or brass pipework) in the cooling circuit
(electrolyte formation).
